America today is extreamly different than the America in the 1950's. In the 50's men were the ones who brought in the money while the women stayed home and tended to the house. This "women are the new money maker thing" doesn't really affect me because my father was in jail all the time so my mom always did everything to bring in the money. Women are strong, I believe that women can be the money makers.

Capt. Kaththana Stagg and Tom Dunham are two prime examples in this article. Stagg is a army captain and Dunham it a stay at home dad. Stagg was told that she was too independent and a homemaker job was aproperiote for a southern girl. She wasn't having any of that. So she enlisted in the army and she loved it. Dunham had a electrician job but it was brutal on his body and didn't provide health insurance and required working on the holidays and it was an unstable source of income.

I think that my statements reflect on my own life and they actually relate to some extent. My mom is mom and dad for me and my sister and has always been there for me. My dad is always in jail so he can't help raise me and my sister. My mom cooked cleaned, punished, and loved me and my sister. My mom worked two jobs to keep the house and then my sister had to get a job after my mom had a stroke.

I support the women moneymaker thing. I've gone through a lot more than most kids my age so I understand.
